RESTYLANE FILLER IN DENVER

The Restylane collection of fillers is a line of injectable products formulated to act like your body's own naturally occurring hyaluronic acid (HA) which helps restore hydration and add volume to the skin. The Restylane product line uses two proprietary technologies in their scientific formulations. The NASHA Technology gives each product an unique particle size for bespoke results, so you use larger particles for severe lines and folds and finer particles for fine lines and detailed shaping. The XpresHAn Technology is designed to move and integrate with flexibility for natural looking results. This FDA approved dermal filler line has several products available which we offer at our Cherry Creek office: Restylane Contour, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne, Restylane Refyne, Restylane and Restylane Kysse.

HOW DOES RESTylANE WORK?

Restylane dermal fillers are a soft and gel-like product formulated with Hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a pivotal building block of our skin and a naturally occurring substance already found in our bodies. HA is part of the extracellular matrix which holds our cells together to keep our skin plump and hydrated. As we age, the body’s production of HA declines which contributes to crepey looking thinner skin with less elasticity. Injecting the skin with HA products helps replenish hydration in the tissue as well as fill, plump and add volume to areas of the face.

In addition to adding volume for anti-aging concerns, HA dermal fillers can be injected into areas of the face to help balance and contour facial features. Adding Restylane Lyft and Defyne to the jawline and chin can define and bring symmetry to the face.

TYPES OF RESTYLANE DERMAL FILLER

  • Restylane Contour is FDA approved for cheek augmentation and contouring the midface. Using the brand's proprietary XpresHAn Technology, Contour is able to integrate seamlessly into the skin, promoting a natural feeling and natural look with each facial expression.

  • Restylane Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face. Restylane Lyft perfect for adding volume to cheeks and midface.

  • Restylane Refyne uses XpresHAn Technology making it a is a flexible filler for areas of movement. Refyne can help soften nasolabial folds (also called laugh lines) and marionette lines which are the creases that run from the corners of your mouth to your chin.

  • Restylane Defyne is ideal for severe, deep wrinkles and folds, such as laugh lines and marionette lines. Like Refyne, Defyne is a flexible filler meant for areas of high movement. Defyne is also FDA indicated for chin augmentation and correction of mild to moderate chin regression.

  • Restylane - the classic formula which can be used to plump lips and reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles.

  • Restylane Kysse is FDA approved for augmenting lips and improving the upper perioral rhytids, the lip wrinkles sometimes called smoker’s lines.

What happens DURING my RESTYLANE treatment?

Restylane Filler being mixed for injection

Prior to treatment, you will have a consultation with your injector to discuss your goals, expectations, and determine which dermal filler products will be right for you. We will also review pre-treatment prep (what to avoid two weeks prior) and what to expect post filler treatment.

Restylane injections are done in-office and take about an hour. When you arrive for your appointment, photos will be taken and a topical numbing cream will be applied. Most HA fillers are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment, and the topical numbing agent helps to make the treatment more comfortable.

Your injector will slowly inject the Restylane product to the specific areas of the face using a fine-gauge needle or microcannula. The gel is injected in small amounts with your injector gently massaging and shaping the product with their fingers, and then injecting again to distribute the product evenly and aesthetically. Results are immediate and will improve in the next two weeks as you heal.

What happens after my filler treatment?

Your injector will apply ice immediately after your injections to minimize bruising. Since everyone heals differently, your recovery will depend on you. You may experience swelling, slight redness, tenderness and bruising as with any injectable treatment, this typically only lasts 3-5 days. Minimize bruising and swelling by avoiding heat, strenuous exercise and alcohol for 48 hours.

HOW LONG DO RESTYLANE FILLERS LAST?

Two weeks after your Restylane Filler treatment the product will have fully integrated and swelling will have resolved. We ask all filler patients to return to the office for a 2-week follow up and photos to make sure you love your results! Dr. Zamora’s philosophy with fillers is “less is more”, so we always inject conservatively. The 2-week followup is a great time to add more product if you want. Filler results are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Areas of the face with more movement tend to dissolve more quickly. We recommend scheduling your next filler treatment before you need it so you can maintain a natural looking and consistent result.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

During clinical trials, patients reported mild itchiness, tenderness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site but these typically resolve within 2-weeks. Bumps and lumps can also develop, but this risk is reduced when you choose an experienced, reputable injector. Serious complications with Restylane are rare and can be avoided by receiving treatment in a reputable aesthetics practice with experienced injectors. Patients who have received filler treatments from inexperienced providers are more likely to see serious risks such as infection, blood vessel damage, or asymmetrical results. You should avoid Restylane products if have previously had an allergic reaction to HA fillers or if you are allergic to anesthetics such as lidocaine.
