AVELI CELLULITE TREATMENT IN DENVER

Treating cellulite can be frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing. That is why we are excited to offer Aveli, the newest and most effective solution for cellulite. Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics is one of the first practices in Denver to offer Avéli for the treatment of cellulite. Avéli is FDA-approved and provides a lasting reduction in cellulite on the thighs, hips, and buttocks in a single session. This minimally invasive procedure takes about an hour, has little to no downtime, is an easy recovery, and results can be seen about a month later.

So long, Cellulite!

Cellulite is commonly seen as a sedentary or overweight problem that might be solved with liposuction or with a strict diet and exercise regimen. In reality, cellulite is its own condition that has more to do with the connective fibrous bands (septa) beneath the skin than how much fat you have on your body. Cellulite is independent of weight loss or being in shape.

More than 90 percent of women develop cellulite regardless of shape or size. Cellulite can also become more noticeable as we age and hormones change. Changes like stiffening or shrinking of the connective fibrous bands (septa), thinning of the skin, and an increase in the size of fat cells can cause cellulite to be more noticeable.

What is AVELI CELLULITE TREATMENT

Cellulite is caused when some of the subdermal bands of connective tissue or septa tether and cause tension on the skin’s surface, creating a depression or a lumpy “cottage cheese” or “orange peel” appearance. Avéli works by precisely cutting those septa bands, allowing the skin to smooth itself from the inside out.

The Avéli procedure is performed using a sophisticated handheld device to manually target and subcise or cut the complicated web of septa bands causing cellulite dimples. The Avéli device features a light, a hook, and a tiny blade. The light illuminates the skin from underneath, showing the proper depth in which the fibrous bands are found. The hook catches on one band at a time. When the dimpled band is hooked, it can then be cut quickly with a tiny blade that protracts with the push of a button. The blade retracts back into the device, and the hook is moved across the area to confirm that the skin has been released from the septa. Avéli is the first and only device to offer real-time verification in treating cellulite.

The Avéli device is guided under the skin directly to the targeted dimples.

Once identified, the septa bands causing the dimple are severed.

Real-time confirmation for visibly
smoother skin and a lasting result.

Procedure Information

Avéli is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure performed at our Cherry Creek North surgery suite. It is convenient and comfortable, and most patients return to normal activities within 24-48 hours. When you arrive for your procedure, Dr. Kober or Dr. Zamora will review your procedure plan, take photos, and mark the dimples to be treated. You will be given a local anesthetic in the treatment area, which can be the most uncomfortable part of the process. Once you are numb, Dr. Kober or Dr. Zamora will make small incisions to insert the device under the skin to locate and cut the connective tissue bands causing the cellulite dimples. Avéli allows Dr. Kober or Dr. Zamora to verify the release of each dimple, confirming your results in real-time. Your incisions will be covered with an absorbent dressing, no sutures are needed, and you can drive yourself home.

Post Treatment Information

You can return to most of your normal activities after your Avéli procedure but refrain from vigorous physical exercise for about two weeks. You’ll have some light to moderate bruising, swelling and numbness in your treatment areas and may feel temporary tenderness or pressure when sitting or lying down. In some cases, clear or pink fluid may leak from insertion points for a day or two. We recommend wearing compressive clothing like yoga pants as much as possible during the first two weeks. The treated area may feel a bit tight or sore after the procedure, and any discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter Tylenol. However, if your pain is unbearable, please call our office immediately. Initial swelling and bruising can take one to two weeks to resolve, and while initial results are immediate, the final result is typically seen about a month later.

Avéli Cellulite FAQ

  • Avéli only treats the septa bands causing cellulite dimples. It is not a procedure that addresses other concerns often seen alongside cellulite, such as laxity or fat pockets. We recommend treating skin with ATTIVA RF for laxity and J-Plazty Body for fat pockets.

  • The results of your Avéli procedure should be visible once swelling and bruising subsides. By one month post-procedure you should start to see the effects of the procedure.

  • Avéli cellulite treatment result can last years. Over time new septa may form to create new dimples and the area may need to be retreated. Retreatment is patient dependent.

  • Avéli is designed to be a single, in-office procedure.

  • All procedures carry risks. Risks with Avéli cellulite treatment can include infection and allergic reaction to medications or materials used in treatment. Common side effects are bruising and tenderness that may take up to a month to fully resolve. Small areas of firmness, usually not visible or painful, typically resolved in a couple of months.

  • Avéli is performed using a local anesthetic so you should feel no discomfort during your treatment. Afterward, most patients report moderate discomfort when sitting on their treated areas for 2-3 days.

  • While price will vary from person to person, and depending on the number of cellulite dimples treated, industry figures place the average cost range of Avéli treatment between $3,500 and $4,500. Schedule your consultation to learn your specific cost for Avéli.
