ATTIVA SKIN TREATMENT

ATTIVA S.I.H. Radiofrequency is exclusively offered at Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics in Denver, Colorado. ATTIVA is the latest non-surgical cosmetic treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. While the ATTIVA technology has been used in Europe for years, it is now making its way to the United States, where Dr. Zamora and is team are pioneering the techniques for treating the face and body.

What is ATTIVA RF?

ATTIVA is a non-surgical, non-invasive radiofrequency treatment for the face and body that provides visible results with little to no downtime. ATTIVA is unique because of the Subdermal Induced Heat Technology (S.I.H.) delivery system, which delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin to generate substantial heat without causing damage to the skin’s surface. The radiofrequency energy triggers an immediate contraction of relaxed collagen fibers beneath the skin and initiates a biochemical response that prompts fibroblasts to generate new collagen and elastin.

HOW DOES ATTIVA WORK

ATTIVA uses Subdermal Induced Heat (S.I.H.) technology, incorporating continuous, fractional, and sequential radiofrequency currents to uniformly heat subdermal tissue layers. This controlled energy is closely monitored by a temperature control system that regulates both subcutaneous and skin temperatures. The FDA-approved ATTIVA device utilizes a highly responsive thermal imaging camera for precise skin temperature control throughout the treatment. The ATTIVA hand-piece has a microcannula equipped with Double Temperature Control, ensuring continuous monitoring of the internal probe within the tissues and skin surface temperature through an external thermal control camera. Dr. Zamora and his team can precisely maneuver the device to control thermal diffusion based on the specific treatment areas and skin concerns

ATTIVA Skin Treatment

The ATTIVA RF Treatment offers a safe and efficient treatment option, free from scars, surgery, or downtime. This non-invasive solution is versatile, treating both face and body and delivering results that appear naturally enhanced.

Benefits of Attiva RF Treatment

  • Collagen and elastin production: Collagen is an essential protein that gives skin elasticity and structure. Radiofrequency can stimulate collagen production, resulting in the appearance of healthier and firmer skin, and less fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Non-surgical: ATTIVA S.I.H. Radiofrequency is a non-invasive treatment with no large incisions or sutures.

  • Minimal discomfort: ATTIVA is generally well-tolerated, with most patients experiencing minimal discomfort during the procedure.

  • Very little to no downtime: The ATTIVA S.I.H. device uses a microcannula, a thin, flexible tube that moves easily under the skin, leading to less trauma, risk of bruising, and swelling.

  • Exceptionally safe: The double real-time temperature control, coupled with the high accuracy of the thermocouple, ensures unparalleled safety during the entire procedure with an unwavering focus on the treated area.

Attiva Radiofrequency Skin Tightening by Jack Zamora, MD

Preparation Information

Our team at Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics will assist you with all of the information you need for exceptional results with your ATTIVA S.I.H. procedure. Dr. Zamora will address all of your concerns ahead of time and discuss what your desired results are. Prior to your procedure, Dr. Zamora recommends you discontinue the use of products containing aspirin, garlic, ginseng, green tea and vitamin E for two weeks, as they may increase the risk of bruising.

Procedure Information

ATTIVA utilizes the use of a flexible microcannula to administer anesthetic via injection makes the procedure more comfortable. Once the skin is anesthetized, a thin electrode emitting radiofrequency is applied slowly and carefully for a specific amount of time, depending on the area being treated. The procedure is closely monitored by a camera, which measures the skin's surface temperature to ensure its safety. Following the treatment, there is no visible change to the skin's appearance, although some individuals may experience mild swelling or bruising. Over the course of 4 to 6 weeks, the lifting effect becomes more noticeable and continues to improve as new collagen is produced. One or more treatments may be required to achieve individual results, with the option to repeat the procedure every 4 to 6 months.

Post Treatment Information

One of the biggest benefits of the ATTIVA treatment is the minimal downtime. Aside from the possible bruising and swelling you can expect the treated areas to be tender but this resolves within 24 hours and normal activities can be resumed.

The treated area may feel a bit tight or sore after the procedure and any discomfort can be treated with over the counter Tylenol. However, if your pain is unbearable, please call our office immediately. Initial swelling and bruising can take one to two weeks to resolve, and while initial results are immediate, the final result is typically seen 3 to 4 months later due to the collagen and elastin remodeling within the skin.

Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or excessive heat for at least 24 hours after the procedure. This includes avoiding tanning beds, hot tubs, saunas, and sunbathing. Keep the treated area clean and moisturized to promote healing and prevent infection. Avoid applying makeup or any other skincare products that contain harsh chemicals or exfoliating agents for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Refrain from vigorous exercise or any other strenuous physical activity for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and aid in the recovery process. Be gentle when washing or touching the treated area, and avoid rubbing or scratching the skin.

ATTIVA Treatment FAQ

  • ATTIVA utilizes subdermal induced heat (S.I.H.) technology. This patented technology utilizes the modulation of various radiofrequency (RF) current types, including continuous, fractional, and sequential currents. The ATTIVA treatment evenly heats under the skin using controlled yet potent RF energy. This heat causes an instantaneous contraction of loose collagen fibers and stimulates the fibroblast activity boosting elastin production and the synthesis of new collagen. Collagen and elastin are pivotal for skin firmness, elasticity, and thicker, firmer skin.

  • ATTIVA safely and effectively heats under the skin to stimulate collagen synthesis without causing damage to the surface. Other treatments can induce intentional injury to the skin's surface, resulting in redness, scars, and prolonged downtime.

  • After the ATTIVA treatment, many patients notice some immediate improvement; however, the complete outcome becomes evident after 2 to 3 months post-treatment. This time frame is crucial as it allows the body the necessary duration to generate new elastin and collagen fibers, which contribute to the ultimate results.

  • Depending on your goals, one or more treatments are typically required to achieve satisfactory results. ATTIVA treatments can be repeated every 4 to 6 months.

  • ATTIVA treatment results can last two to five years. Natural degradation stemming from aging, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices will persist, and retreatment can be done as needed to maintain results.

  • Your clinician can discuss pain management for your ATTIVA treatment at your consultation. Any discomfort can easily be managed, our goal is to keep you comfortable for your treatment. During the ATTIVA treatment, the area is numbed with local anesthesia and topical numbing cream. Pronox, a type of quick onset laughing gas may be offered to enhance patient comfort, a nerve block maybe administered, or patients may request an oral sedative. While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, you may feel some discomfort, a gentle tugging sensation, zapping or sharp pinching sensation, mild heat, or experience muscle contractions. After the ATTIVA treatment, some patients report tenderness, bruising, or swelling in the areas treated which typically subsides within 7-14 days.

  • ATTIVA Treatment times can vary based on the treatment area, but one area typically takes about 30 minutes or less.

  • RF Microneedling delivers radiofrequency energy using tiny needles that intentionally injure the skin's surface. ATTIVA can generate a significant amount of heat without causing injury to the surface of the skin.
