Micro-Peels
Overview
A micro peel is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that provides the lightest chemical peeling to rejuvenate and regenerate the skin's natural radiance, softness, smoothness, and youth. A micro peel is safe and effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evening out the skin's pigmentation, diminishing pore size, and treating acne.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the peel performed?
There are three steps to a micro peel treatment. The first step involves the physical scrapping or application of an enzyme solution to remove dead cells and other debris from the facial skin. Next alactic or glycolic alphahydroxy acid solution is applied to the facial treatment areas and allowed to soak for a few seconds to a few minutes. This facilitates further cleaning of the skin and removes debris that has been lodged in the pores.
The last step of a micro peel treatment is a cryogenic therapy wherein an instrument with a carbondioxide "dry ice" ball at its point is moved in circular motions at the surface of the skin to freeze off a micro-layer. A moisturizing cream is then applied.
